The Grand Cru wine producers of France need help getting their information on the Web.

There are a number of wine producers, several different plans for constructing their data and several different ideas for the style of the web site. Some groups have already assembled their data as XML sources, but the groups are not working together. They need somebody who can help them with the design and construction of their information.

So far the various wine producing regions of France have each been working independently. For example, Alsace and Cotes du Rhone are two wine producing regions and each has been working to produce its own information. Furthermore, Cotes du Rhone, although normally considered one region, is split between producers of red and white wines. In short, many wine producers, many different kinds of data, many different ideas about style and little agreement.

Fortunately for you, some work has already been done by a previous Informatics student. The achievements of this student are listed below in Current Resources. The various ideas and demands of your clients, as well as the U.S. Government's interests in the importation of wines are listed below in Requirements.

The wine producers are adamant that they want the most modern web site available. That is why all of them are constructing their data as XML sources. Unfortunately, they are not centrally organized and therefore have no server that you can use. In short, everything you do must be done on the client side using Internet Explorer 6.0 and the Document Object Model.

Warning: The previous Informatics student decided on a strategy of "getting to know the product." This led to extensive overseas travel bicycling from winery to winery. The project has been seriously delayed (this is the reason for your opportunity) since it's been six months at least since our last communications with this student.
